Águilas-Guadalentín SWRO Desalination Plant
Design, construction and operation of the Águilas-Guadalentín Seawater Desalination Plant.
The consortium formed by Sacyr Agua, Sacyr Construction, Cadagua and Ferrovial, designed and built the Águilas-Guadalentín Seawater Desalination Plant, and is currently operating and maintaining it.
With a capacity of up to 210,000 m3/day, the Águilas-Guadalentín Desalination Plant complements the supply of irrigation demands in the southern part of the Segura Basin, and supplies to the municipalities of Lorca and Águilas. The plant also has important distribution and pumping systems for different users and advanced systems for the diffusion and dissolution of brine at sea, promoting environmental protection.
The treatment process consists of:
- Pretreatment by double filtration stage (gravity and pressure)
- Reverse osmosis with double pass for boron removal
- Energy recovery using isobaric cameras
